12.28.12 | 0.0 No Kodan Armada?! Awesome list though!! Obviously, especially one this large, any top (enter desired # here) list is for you and WILL NOT please everybody, as I doubt any two people in the world would create the EXACT same top 100--haha--so thank you for contributing your opinions, and many thanks for turning me on to a few really good bands I did not even know existed prior. :)) |

PsilocybeDreamer
05.21.13 | Needs more regular screamo or more powerviolence influenced stuff (emoviolence) and less post-rock influenced stuff. Everyone seems to be all about that post-rock screamo (not that post-rock screamo is bad, I love it too). It seems like people totally forget about classic, no-frills screamo and/or emoviolence. Its like they want screamo without the true intesity that screamo is supposed to have. I mean Raein is great, Daitro is great, Sed non Satiata is great, but how many artsy, mellow post-rock build-ups can you listen to? where is the emotion? where is the passion? where is the raw power? where is the punk?
Here are some mutha fucking non-post-rock screamo recs (since you have enough post-rock screamo).
-She Notes the Chariots
-Takaru
-InHumanity
-Tunes for Bears to Dance to
-Seeing Means More
-The Apoplexy Twist Orchestra
-Light the Fuse and Run
-Occam's Razor
-Grievance
-Hassan I Sabbah
-Julia
and of course
-Orchid
-Asking Alexandria
Now these band might not all produce grand, lofty, artistic creations (obviously Asking Alexandria does though), but they are still great bands. Punk rock is about playing whatever you want, as sloppy as you want, as long as its good and has passion. |
