First Agalloch album i tried and the raw production really threw me off it after the first listen but after listening to their other albums and coming back to this it was infinitely better. |

Silent Waters
One of the first albums i tried with death metal styled vocals and disliked it and left the album sitting in itunes for a few years. Then came back to it after i had found other avenues i enjoyed more to get get into death metal vocals i came back to this and liked it a whole lot more. |

On first listen thought it was pretty average and didn't listen to it again for a long time, then once "We're Here Because We're Here" came out which i loved i went back to this and got a lot more out of it. |

The Century Of Self
Still the only album i've heard from these guys which will be changing. I realize this is not considered anywhere near their best work but after disregarding it on first listen i went back to it recently and found it a whole lot better. |

Very odd and evil album that i didn't really enjoy to much to begin with but it had something that kept me coming back to try it again, and slowly after repeated spins it grew on me, still find it an odd listen but enjoyable at the same time |

First drone album i tried and on first listen got nothing out of it and to be honest, not entirely sure what prompted me to give it another chance, but really glad i did, probably my favourite drone and Boris album now |

Final Conversation Of Kings
Really loved their older works but putting this on for the first time all i could think of was they had lost their hard hitting edge and Clint had lost all the passion from his vocals. But slowly over time the album started to grab me song by song, and while its still a step down from their other works, is not anywhere as bad as i had once thought. |

Seems to be a popular theme with this record from what i can gather. On first listen didn't really grab me as being anything special, but kept luring me back to keep listening to it, and while i still don't think its the classic its lauded as....its still growing on me and may end up working it way to that mantle. |

Love faith no more but for some reason this album i didn't like much at all on first listen but has grown on me a lot to maybe overtaking Angel Dust as my favourite Faith No More release |

First Gazpacho album i tried and it bored the hell out of me on first listen....overly long songs that didn't seem to be anything special at all. Came back to it after listening to some of their more recent albums which weren't nearly as inaccessible and found out why this is considered their best work |

Worship And Tribute
Had songs from this album for years before i actually started getting into music in a big way and always disliked them, a few moths ago though i went on a bit of a post-hardcore binge and re-downloaded this album to give it a chance after seeing all the praise they receive around here and found it a whole lot better than i originally thought. |

In The Absense Of Truth
First Isis and post metal album i tried and didn't enjoy it much at all, think i had this at a 2.5 for a long time. Then decided to give Panopticon a try and found that to be a much easier and rewarding starting point which spawned post metal as being one of my favourite genres. Then coming back to this album after a while was a lot easier to digest and enjoy. |

Didn't understand what all the fuss was about after the first listen which was before i had listened to faith no more. After going through that whole discography and loving it i came back to this album, and while i know the two bands don't share to much apart from Patton, i found this to be a whole lot more rewarding and it continues to grow on me now with every listen. |

First listen: yeah that was pretty enjoyable, nothing to special though
After repeated listens: Every song is pretty much perfect and is one of my favourite albums. |

Souls At Zero
First Neurosis album and wasn't much of a fan really, and it took me listening through their discography chronologically through to "The Eye Of Every Storm" when all of a sudden Neurosis clicked and are now probably my favourite band with every one of their albums a unique and rewarding journey. |

Frames
First Oceansize album and found it a chore to sit through for the first couple of times, but slowly the songs unwrap themselves and now this probably my favourite album of all time and there isn't a single second of this album that i don't enjoy. |

Blackwater Park
Listened to this around the same time i listened to the Amorphis album up the top and same as with that album, it didn't do much for me. But because i had the rest of their discography on hand so thought i might as well give the rest a shot and it wasn't until a tried "Morningrise" that Opeth finally clicked with me, which is weird as that is seen to be their most inaccessible album. So coming back to this album was much better, but this still sits down low in my favourite Opeth albums, maybe because of that initial opinion. |

Kid A
Pretty much the same story as with Cynic's Focus from before, seems to be an album that needs time to grow, especially seeing as i don't really enjoy electronic music which is probably why this still isn't a favourite album of mine from them....but still much better than i thought on first listen. |

A Determinism Of Morality
Started with "The Galilean Satellites" and loved it, then when this came out i listened and it just didn't carry that same thick atmosphere which i was expecting which threw me off and i mistakenly wrote this album off as pretty average....but after giving it more chances and removing the comparison to Satellites, this album is pretty awesome, albeit different to what i had expected coming into it. |

Given To Destroyers
First listen sort of threw me a bit and i'm not entirely sure why, it just didn't sit to well with me. Then went to a gig where they were opening for Mammal and after seeing them live the record kind of clicked for me and now i really enjoy it when this album pops up on my ipod from time to time |
