Seems to be sputnik's latest fashion to make a ranked list and have almost every user tell you you're wrong.

Not a disaster by any means, but certainly doesn't come anywhere near the rest of
their albums. Half of this doesn't even sound like Opeth, the lyrics in places are
poor, and it sounds way too contrived. Some fun moments here and there but this
feels like it's trying to sound 'edgy', when in actual fact it's not original at all. Still a
good album if I pretend it's not by Opeth, though.
Favourite song: The Devil's Orchard

If the rest of the album was as good as the three 'H' songs, then this would be 5
material. However, the other tracks are so underwhelming to me; Porcelain Heart is
almost a complete disaster.
Favourite song: Heir Apparent or Hessian Peel

I should love this album, considering how much I love Morningrise, which is very
similar. However, I don't feel as great a connection with it as I do with Morningrise,
for some reason. Still very strong and some very nice guitar harmonies.
Favourite song: Forest of October

Possibly their heaviest album, and each member handles their respective instrument
very well (admittedly, I could have phrased that better). However, most of the
songs are too long, especially Wreath.
Favourite song: Master's Apprentices
My Arms, Your Hearse

Incredible in terms of atmosphere and a really strong concept too. However, I'm not
a big fan of the album's production.
Favourite song: Demon of the Fall
Ghost Reveries

Took a while to grow on me but this is a superb album, containing Mikael's best
harsh vocals for sure. However, Isolation Years is incredibly underwhelming, which
is what stops it from being a 5 for me.
Favourite song: Hours of Wealth or The Grand Conjuration

The perfect album for rainy days, this is when Opeth remembered how to make a
prog-rock based album without sounding like a complete rip-off of the bands from
the 70's.
Favourite song: Windowpane
Still Life

Possibly my favourite Mikael Akerfeldt clean vocal performance, this album is just
incredible from start to finish. Only downside is Godhead's Lament, which doesn't do
anything for me.
Favourite song: The Moor
Blackwater Park

Separating this and Still Life is a near impossible job for me. However, how the
album builds up to the tremendous closing title-track is just phenomenal.
Favourite song: Blackwater Park

At first it's a hard album to digest. But the more you listen, the more you realise
that the 'random riffs' in each song actually connect superbly. In terms of vocals,
this is not Mikael's best Opeth performance, but the overall beauty and atmosphere
tops every other Opeth album to date, in my opinion.
Favourite song: Black Rose Immortal
