08.30.12 | I really wish Seventh Son of a Seventh Son was somewhere on the list. It's my personal favorite metal album of all time. Some other notables you might want to check out: Voivod (particularly their first 7 or so albums), High On Fire (Blessed Black Wings is a monster), Symphony X (Divine Wings of Tradgedy, The Odyssey, V, and Paradise Lost are excellent), Orphaned Land (Mabool is what Opeth wishes they were), Edge of Sanity (Crimson might be the best progressive death metal song/album ever), Manilla Road (One of the best classic heavy metal bands), and some of the aforementioned suggestions (particularly Immortal, but I prefer Sons of Northern Darkness slightly). |
