The Summer Of 2012

This summer is shaping up to be an EXCELLENT one for music. Question is, which of these albums will prove themselves triumphant this season? Which one will be the definitive albums of the summer of 2012?
1Pennywise
All or Nothing

RELEASED - With a new singer, it seems they've been revitalized a bit. A
more solid pop-punk sound (emphasis on the punk).
2Silversun Pickups
Neck of the Woods

RELEASED - The Pickups are much like the Foo Fighters in that their albums
are almost always solid, if not groundbreaking. I haven't heard it, but I
plan on it, and we'll see how it sounds.
3Hot Water Music
Exister

MAY 15th - Not quite as biting as their earlier albums, but I think it's a
sound that people can get used to. Really, I'm just happy to hear Chuck's
voice again. It'll almost certainly get some rotation this summer.
4Killer Mike
R.A.P. Music

MAY 15th - This one was a big surprise to me. The only thing I've heard
Killer Mike in was Outkast's "The Whole World." This album reminds me,
oddly, of Flash Bang Grenada--it's pretty filthy, but I'm surprisingly into it.
Multiple listens are required, absolutely.
5mewithoutYou
Ten Stories

MAY 15th - I still haven't heard it yet, but I have high, high hopes for
it...especially considering that I'm one of the apparent few who loved 'It's
All False!...'
6Tenacious D
Rize of the Fenix

MAY 15th - Lots of good summer albums being released on this one day,
aren't there? This one is a great relief, because it's good and actually
funny. "The Tale of Hollywood Jack..." and "Roadie" are already among
some of the best songs I've heard this year so far.
7John Mayer
Born and Raised

MAY 22nd - I haven't heard anything from this album, yet, but if "Queen of
California" is anything to go on, it very well could be the road-trip album of
the year.
8Japandroids
Celebration Rock

MAY 29th - Japandroids' last LP was the soundtrack to my 2009, and more
than any other album on the list, I'm hoping this one will be the same for
2012.
9 Anberlin
Untitled

JUNE ?? - Anberlin should be releasing a new album sometime in June, so
says the interwebs. There are many that say that their magnum opus is
still forthcoming--could this be it?
10The Beach Boys
That's Why God Made The Radio

JUNE 5th - The Beach Boys' music, and their influence, STILL define "summer
albums" to this day. And now, the band has the chance to do that much
more directly. Here's hoping they live up to their own storied legacy.
11Celldweller
Wish Upon A Blackstar

JUNE 5th - I have been waiting for this album for literally three years
straight. I can tell you already that it'll be getting quite the rotation in my
car deck when released, guaranteed.
12Motion City Soundtrack
Go

JUNE 12th - Motion City Soundtrack is one of those quintessential pop-punk
bands, and they happen to be releasing a new album just as summer is
getting into full swing.
13The Offspring
Days Go By

JUNE 26th - Folks say they're not fans of The Offspring's new single, but I'm
hoping the album still has positives about it. I doubt they'll go back to their
90's output, but if they can make an album of songs on the level of, say,
"Hammerhead" (which I thoroughly enjoyed), then I'll be satisfied.
14 Nas
Life Is Good

JULY 17th - Three songs have been released so far ("Daughters," "The
Don" and "Nasty"), and all three point to this album being the third coming
of Nas (after 'Illmatic' and 'Stillmatic'). I see this album's success as being a
definite benchmark in the comeback of hip-hop music (much like Raekwon's
'OB4CL II').
15The Gaslight Anthem
Handwritten

JULY 24th - Much like Japandroids, 'The '59 Sound' defined the summer of
'08 like no other album. And also like Japandroids, I'm really hoping this
album will be a defining album of the summer of 2012.
16 Misc.
Any others?

Which upcoming albums do you think will define your summer this year?
