At its very core, this moody, dark, depressed mix of indie, post rock and metal is something I should love, and its production is close enough to stellar that it creates a distinctive atmosphere to lure you. But a full listen to it leaves me fatigued, since many songs just completely miss the spot when it comes to leaving you anything more than a minimally good song. I have to search for moments where a song becomes memorable due to an interesting performance or songwriting feat, like in Unending, or by using interesting tones like on 31st street, in an album of 10 tracks. Great vibe album, but not much more to it.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of this album. It fits my mood perfectly on most days. Heavy, dragging, but also lax. It comes across with such beauty and modesty, with such a distinct take on metal. It's like a depressive indie take on metal that reads as what I picture a band may be producing 200 years into their career. It's tired, it's low. But it's not stale. It's not boring. It's an expressive alt metal album for a tired soul.

3.3 - When the band is on like on Already Low or Lean, they are amazing, but the album drags in the beginning and nothing really revs you up to enjoy the better songs on the second half of the album.
