I have to say that the tejano-esque stuff was quite lovely. Was hard to pick between Algiers and Puerto for my favorite track.

Creatively grouped together and absolutely NOT from New York City! This band has got a salsa oneness that pulls their unique Latino rhythms together in a mysterious, smooth and at times, a calm soothing manner. Each musician tugs at your ear to pick up each sound as they play. This is the very essence of keeping Calexico intriguing as the band tempts you to desire to listen to their next "musical story" told only the way they seem to tell a well written script!

I think this is a wonderful album! I love the instruments used and the Hispanic/Mexican influences. Each song stands apart from each other and don't sound alike.rBeautifully executed, relaxing yet stimulating.

This is their best album!It will be a classic!Pitty that there's not a review were this can be explained.Pitty that i don't have the time to do it.I just love their album and all their work through the past years from 1996.Really Great band!

A good rock record. I liked its casual nature. There wasn't anything really that blew up in
my face though but I still thought it did everything well. A gentle array of instrumentation
married with a polite mixing. The lyricism is okay, nothing to go wild about in my opinion
but it certainly isn't anything to complain about and really, there isn't much to complain
about here in general. It's a nice album. I'd have liked to have heard more textures and
colours here as the artwork suggests but it's still an okay album.
