Is anyone really surprised that Arca dropped the ball on this one?
Obviously I'm in the minority looking at most of the other ratings here, but barring &&&&& (I think that's all the ampersands) given its mixtape status, Arca was never going to be able to pull off the kind of statement that an LP needs to have to ensure survival. Hype derailed - I count 2 great songs, and one good one. The rest are nothing more than explorations in the kind of slo-mo drughype that he already perfected, and then bastardized.

Basically &&&&& part 2, but this falls flat on its face at times. DISSAPOINTED.

Huge basses, anxiously eerie synths that pierce high and hard, a clear deconstructed club vibe, and some glitchy shit happening from time to time: welcome to 2010s indie electronic music. It's mostly uncompromising in its approach, but that ethos does not prevent the record to fall flat at times. When it doesn't, it's mostly because the mechanical sounds manage to sound emotional.

I don't understand what you mean by "survival" and "falls flat on its face." It's a compilation of strange sounds accompanied by strange art, made by a Venezuelan man named Alejandro. What am I missing?
