The Oakland three piece Green Day are argulaby the best pop-punk band around and possibly the most commercially sucsesfull ever and listen to any Green Day album and it's not hard to see why. Witty lyrics with catchy melodys and good musicianship makes a good mix. Warning is Green Days fourth studio album (Don't quote me on that) and is probably the most intresting of any of the albums.
Warning - Billie Joe writes some of the best lyrics in the world and this album is no exception to his ability. Warning sets a mood for this album. It's a witty song lyrically and very catchy. Slower than Green Days usual pace.
Blood, Sex and Booze - A catchy chorus, great verses and a good melody. Everything you expect of Green Day. A song about dominatrix's of all things.
Church On Sunday - Song about comprimise. Trading one thing for another. Lyrics are great and it's one of the catchiest songs so far.
Fashion Victim - Another great song. Catchy, melodic and witty. Talks about fashion labels and their social status.
Castaway - Here's a song that once it's in your head it's not going anywhere soon. Easily the most catchy song to this point Castaway is fantastic. Billie Joe keeps up the lyrical excellence and the musicianship is great. Hit the repeat button here.
Misery - It's Green Day here don't worry but it's very different. Full of other instruments like mandolins, accordians and harmonicas Misery is a stand out song on the album. The lyrics don't go downhill at all and it's a good song.
Deadbeat Holiday - One of my personal favourites this song is. Really there's not much more I can say here than I have for other songs. Lyrically great, Awesome chorus and great musicianship.
Hold On - A song about saying true to yourself this is one I relate with quite alot. It's a song which just carries the Green Day trademarks on the album.
Jackass - This review just seems to be getting repititive. There's no song where you can really go oh this is the low point of the album and the quality is superb throughout the album. So here there's nothing new. Good musicianship and catchy lyrics.
Waiting - The song kicks off with Billie singing and playing some clean chords before kicking in with a kickass verse. The song is slightly different in it's form but it's a great song with a nice little solo.
Minority - A great catchy song with awesome chorus and fantastic verses. It's a Green Day classic and it's one of the best songs lyrically on the album.
Macy's Day Parade - Warning's equavilent of Good Riddance is what this song could be described at. Just as good aswell. It's a more emotional song but a fantastic one. Great way to finish off the studio songs of the album.
Warning is an album which alot of Green Day fans or critics didn't embrace which is a pity. It's a great album. Sure it's slower but the melodys and lyrics are twenty times better because of it. Any pop-punk fan should own this album. It's consistently solid throughout the album with no lull points and it highlights the talent of the band.
