Review Summary: Trophy Eyes soak in potential, and show heaps of it here.

Pop-Punk is a perplexing genre. Creating a unique pop-punk album is near impossible, and because of this bands have taken to mashing together genre's. Trophy Eyes, a band from Australia fall into this category with their debut EP Everything Goes Away. Taking their strong Pop-Punk standing and throwing in elements of hardcore. This begins with vocalist John Floreani who turns his rough, raw vocals (think Touche Amore meets Title Fight) into constant catchy hooks. Its quite impressive for someone as young and inexperienced as he is to belt out with such sincerity. He holds his own with a pen also. He wont deliver line after line of heart wrenching or brain twisting lyrics, but he's honest and sincere, and it never seems trite or forced. The guitar players are no fluke also, their crunchy and distorted chords provide a perfect back drop for drummer Callum Cramp to keep a whirlwind tempo throughout the EP.

Trophy Eyes are a band dripping with potential. They have the ability to take something that's not too original and put enough of their own spin on it, to make it just that. Although this EP clocks in at under 14 minutes, and is only 5 songs long, Trophy Eyes have built quite the foundation to build upon

Bleeding potential, Trophy Eyes prove in 5 songs that they could be the next big thing....

Secant (4.5)
Trophy Eyes’ debut is an emotional charged 15-minute sprint of pop-punk/melodic hardcore....
