Dredg (stylized "dredg") is a band from Los Gatos, California whose sound spans several sub-genres, often with elements of post-rock and even
nu-metal (the band formed at the height of nu-metal's popularity), though most often described under the "art rock" cognomen. Much of dredg's
music is conceptual in that individual songs are often representative parts of larger, unifying stories or ideas; for example, the band's first LP,
