It seems strange that Xasthur has only been active for 11 years. Certainly this one man project is one of the most prolific acts in Black Metal.
With 15 splits, EPs and albums, Xasthur has had medium success both in the US (the band's home country) and across the world. His releases of A Gate Through Bloodstained Mirrors (released in 2001) through to The Funeral Of Being (2003) were released to great acclaim by fans of black metal, though his latest efforts haven't been recieved as well. Nonetheless, Xasthur is a band to watch as it continues to push forward the standard of black metal in the US.
