Urzah are a sludge/doom/post-metal band hailing from Bristol, Southwest UK.
A convergence of influences from the likes of Russian Circles, Mastodon, Gojira, Cult of Luna and Queens of the Stone Age make the 4-piece a sincere and diligent act in the heavy music scene.
Their first self-titled record merges thick, sludge-laden riffs with catchy, thrashy and heavy psychedelia. Their first self-titled record merges thick, sludge-laden riffs with catchy, thrashy and heavy psychedelia. Their second record — simply titled "II" — recorded and released in early 2022 — leans more towards the progressive, heavier side of their creativity. The first single from the record, titled "Greedbather", showcased the integration of doom/crust to satisfying effect. Their second single "Shards" is a perfect example of their post-metal artistry, interweaving gratifying riffs and interesting passages of composition.
2022 sees Urzah touring across UK stages — as well as writing — with more releases penned across the year.
