The Stalin

The Stalin were a punk rock band formed in Tokyo, Japan in 1980 by activist Michiro Endo. He described choosing the name for two reasons: "The name Stalin is very hated by most people in Japan, so it is very good for our image," and, as a socialist, he felt Stalin represented "The downside to every good idea". After various name changes, The Stalin officially split in 1993.
