mainstream success. Three yearslater, the band returned with their major-label debut 'Ixnay on the Hombre', which didn't match
thesuccess of the previous album, but did sell quiet well. 1998 saw the release of 'Americana' which wasjust as successful as
'Smash.' However Dexter Holland and the crew decided to take a more pop-punkdirection and their music became more simple
and poppy. The Offsprings music is now more radiofriendly and recieved a lot of radio airplay in the mid 90's. In 2000 they
released Conspiracy of Onewhich included the single "Original Prankster". In early 2003, longtime drummer Ron Welty left
theband while they were recording their next album, Splinter, which received average reviews, but still soldreasonably well,
despite the lack of a third U.S. single. After five years of silence, The Offspringreturned with their new album, Rise and Fall,
Rage and Grace, in June 2008. Rise and Fall was highly-anticipated and turned out to be yet another huge success. « hide |
