Super Junky Monkey are a legendary all-female Japanese avant-garde metal band that formed in 1991. They are known for their
anti-mainstream sound which often ended up in a beautiful avant-garde mess, taking various influences from the likes of funk,
stoner rock, heavy metal, hardcore punk and grunge. In 1998, the group released its second EP, "E Kiss O", before tragedy
struck the group. The group broke up in early 1999 when original frontwoman, Mutsumi Fukuhara, committed suicide by jumping
off of the balcony of her apartment building. The remaining members did a reunion show in 2009 to commemorate Mutsumi
Fukuhara, which relaunched the band's activities, as the band members are now known to have occasional reunion shows.
