StormLord is an Epic Black Metal band from Italy. They have released 10 albums/demos/EPs, and aren't very well known. The group uses keyboards to give their songs an epic, melodic sounding atmosphere. Occasionally they will have a female singer to add a “Gothic” feel to the music. They are also influenced by power metal, as the normally powerful screams from frontman Christiano Borchi are occasionally replaced by singing (which is still quite effective). Their sound could be described as Iron Maiden meets Emperor. “The Gorgon Cult” was released in 2004, to much critical praise and positive fan response. In 2008, they released their latest album called: “Mare Nostrum”.
