Spider Island's current line-up consists of: Nathan Esch (lead vocals and guitar), Sam Mulder (bass), Donkus Jones (guitar and back up vocals), and Mario Tafoya (drums and back up vocals). In March 2011, Nathan and Sam met John Sahm (original drummer) through a craigslist ad and the first incarnation of Spider Island was born. Spider Island was originally a power trio that searched for their sound often experimenting with many different genres. Spider Island's current line-up consists of: Nathan Esch (lead vocals and guitar), Sam Mulder (bass), Donkus Jones (guitar and back up vocals), and Mario Tafoya (drums and back up vocals). In March 2011, Nathan and Sam met John Sahm (original drummer) through a craigslist ad and the first incarnation of Spider Island was born. Spider Island was originally a power trio that searched for their sound often experimenting with many different genres. The Witch & The Dragon EP was self released in the beginning of 2012 which displayed a rough blueprint for what was to come. On June 1, 2012 Donkus Jones joined the band as a second guitarist who would provide back up vocals. This was declared as the first official line-up of Spider Island. The group played many random gigs in Orange County and other surrounding areas. Among those gigs were house parties, the local skatepark, and venues such as Chain Reaction, The Viper Room and the Whisky a Go Go. On November 27, 2012, the second EP, Dark Nova, was released on the group's label, Glowtooth Records. John Sahm parted ways with the group two days after the EP was released. Mario Tafoya became their new drummer as the year came to a close. Spider Island is currently writing material for their upcoming first full length album which will be released sometime in late 2013.
