Rapes was a legendary underground Japanese hardcore punk band that first formed in 1987. Because of their name, the group
soon developed an aura of infamy, and Rapes became an influential force by the mid 1990's, already influencing tons of up-and-
coming hardcore acts like The Dead Pop Stars and The Piass. After a mysterious four-year hiatus, Rapes returned in early 2006,
only to announce their officially disbandment shortly afterwards. Rapes played their final show July 30th, 2007, and officially
split up.
