Black/Viking metal band Bathory mastermind Quorthon took a break from Bathory in 1994 and decided
to fill his time as a solo artist before he returned to his main band. He single handedly recorded his first
solo album, simply called "Album" in 1994 and soon after that, the second and last album "Purity Of
Essence" that was recorded in 1997. Both albums are classified as Alternative Rock. Quorthon died
due to heart failure in 2004, thus ending his solo career and main band Bathory.
