Q4U was a cult post-punk band from Iceland that first formed in 1980. Originally a more straightforward punk band, Q4U later adopted a more vast electronic tinged post-punk style by the time they released their first EP, “Q1”, in late 1982. Q4U originally disbanded in 1983, although interest in the group rekindled greatly in 2011 when Brazilian label Wave Music released a limited edition compilation album of the group, which sold out its 1000 pressing run. This new attention inspired Q4U to reunite, and the group remain semi-active today, and are one of the most recognized Icelandic post-punk bands internationally.
