Omar Rodriguez Lopez & Lydia Lunch Psychedelic, Alt Rock
The collaborating project between musician Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and spoken word artist Lydia Lunch first began to take
form during an encounter at the All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in December 2005. Rodriguez-Lopez, being a fan of
Lunch's work, had invited her to the event so that they can meet and discuss the possibility of working together on an
album. The meeting eventually resulted in their first recorded collaboration with the intention to record more in the future.
Their debut effort, Omar Rodriguez Lopez & Lydia Lunch, centers around the dark poetry of Lydia Lunch and the
typical experimental rock style of The Mars Volta guitarist. The music was recorded in Amsterdam and New York, while
Lydia's vocals were recorded at her own studio in Barcelona.
