North Korea is a band formed in the aftermath of the Envy On The Coast breakup in 2010. Made up of vocalist Ryan Hunter and guitarist Brian Byrne (both ex- Envy on the Coast), and bassist Michael Sadis and drummer Billy Rymer (both of The Rivalry, with Rymer also in The Dillinger Escape Plan), it seems North Korea play a brand of southern-influenced post-hardcore. Sadis and Rymer had started it off by creating demos of just the bass and the drums. Byrne was then given the demos to add guitar work. From there, Hunter was given the opportunity to add his praised vocal work, thus finishing the creation of North Korea.
The band has no label, and are currently "playing to play", releasing music whenever necessary.
