"Epic" is a word not often associated with brutal death metal. Heaviness and often extreme technicality do not always spawn experimentation. Nile, however, creates death metal that is epic, intelligent, technical, and atmospheric beyond explanation for well over a decade. While extremely brutal and technical, Nile is riddled with middle eastern and Egyptian themes that create imagery unlike the most spacious of death metal bands. In the beginning, they impressed listeners with releases such as The Black Seeds of Vengeance, but never recieved their deserved recognition. In Their Darkened Shrined was a wakeup call, striking the metal world with elements ranging from Egyptian style ambience to sheer brutality. Annihilation of the Wicked only seems to further their force, thus solidifying Nile as a death metal band that will never be forgotten. Other death metal bands can only hope to achieve what Nile has: making some of the world's most unique, technical, brutal, and high-class heavy metal.
