Nachtmystium hail from Chicago, IL and though they started out playing straight-forward, raw Black Metal their sound has evolved into more psychedelic and experimental territory while still paying homage to their Black Metal roots. They are considered to be a part of the United States Black Metal movement which includes bands such as Xasthur and Leviathan (U.S.B.M.). The only original member of the band is Blake Judd (formerly known as Azentrius) who is also the main song writer and vocalist / guitarist for Nachtmystium. The band recently signed with Century Media and their first record with the label, "Assassins: Black Meddle, Part I", features session drumming from Tony Laureano (Nile, Dimmu Borgir) and is the first Nachtmystium release with high production values. They also champion a campaign called "Never stop the madness" which supports hard drug use and the survival of the strong and extermination of the weak. It is not an actual movement per se but it is a slogan used by bands like Mysticum and a few other bands in the Black Metal underground. http://nachtmystium2017.bandcamp.com/ « hide
