Mariee Sioux is of Polish and Cherokee Indian descent. Her father is a mandolin player who accompanies her on her fist album. She is based in Nevada City, CA and plays a soft soothing style of contemporary folk with only her guitar, her father's mandolin and various Native American instruments to compliment her graceful voice. She is close friends with Alela Diane who she has known since childhood, the pair have often toured together in the past.
