After playing various shows at private and school parties and recording several demo tapes, Incubus released their first albumFungusAmongus in 1995. The album had a hard rock sound with major elements of funk and jazz, which developedfurther with their followingalbumS.C.I.E.N.C.E.in 1997. After the release of S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Incubus replaced DJ Lyfewith DJ Chris Kilmore due to creativedifferences. The 1999 album Make Yourself marked a kind of breakthrough for theband, as they got more and more popular (mostlybecause of the song Drive, which had a lot of airplay). Building off thesuccess of their previous album, Incubus released Morning Viewin2001, an album that was much mellower than theirprevious releases.

At the end of 2003, Incubus announced that bassist Dirk Lance had been replaced byformer Roots guitarist Ben Kenney, which ultimatelyleadto the creation of their new sound. After a creative pause, they released A Crow Left Of TheMurder, which sounded nothing like anyprevious material released. After doing their first world tour in 2004, Incubusworked on various material throughout 2005. In 2006,Incubus released their 5th studio album Light Grenades, which tookthe band's sound to a different approach, yet again. Incubussupported their latest album with the live DVD Look Alive, which featured many songs off Light Grenades and other recent works.Their latest studio album, If Not Now, When?,released in 2011, softened down the sound of Incubus that many fans missed. Incubuscontinues to tour today. « hide
