MC Lord Magrao is a Brazilian who specializes in death metal and Aristazabal Hawkes who is a classical double bass player from Canada. Fyfe Dangerfield is from England and specializes in classical piano and used to be a maverick music teacher and Greig Stewart is from Scotland and is percussion.

The band is known for their quirky performances and very unique sound, and the band was only formed in 2003. Their most memorable performance on TV was at Top Of The Pops where they transformed their hit single ' Made Up Love Song #43' into a Japanese-Jazz style of music and MC Lord Magrao played guitar with his back to the crowd and playing in front of a mirror. It was known to be one of Top Of The Pop's most memorable performances. They gathered much success from the end of 2005 with the critics hyping them up so much and their album being eagerly awaited since their strength of releases. Their debut album is nominated for a Mercury Music Prize for Best Album of the Year and they were nominated for Best New Act at the Mojo Awards without releasing an Album. They also did a very good cover of The Streets 'Never Went to Church' single and it was included in the release. « hide
