Gordian Knot is an instrumental progressive rock/metal band led and formed by bassist Sean Malone, of Cynic fame. The band's
music is highly technical, incorporating many layers of complex melodies with influnces ranging from metal to jazz (in the
Floridian death metal tradition). The band possesses a shifting line-up, with the only consistent musician being Malone. At times
the band has held members of Genesis, Cynic, King Crimson, Spastik Ink, and Dream Theater.
