Formerly founded in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in early 2017, Goodland is predominantly an Emo Indie band. But one can struggle to put an
exact label on their genre as the metal influences (primarily found in the drumming), and straight rock and roll attitude at live shows leaves

Formerly founded in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in early 2017, Goodland is predominantly an Emo Indie band. But one can struggle to put an
exact label on their genre as the metal influences (primarily found in the drumming), and straight rock and roll attitude at live shows leaves
one in a tough spot to not only pin them down to a specific genre, but to also figure out where their socks just got blown off to.
They became a full band derived from sibling jam sessions between Aiden (drums) and Aaron Trinkner (guitar/vocals). Along the way they
recruited cousin Jake Shirley (guitar/vocals) and the full line up came to fruitation with the addition of Tyler Marshall (bass/vocals). With a full
band, they now began practicing and gigging almost religiously, writting countless songs (which they hope to release in the near future) and
gigging from one corner of the great state of Wisconsin to the next.
Sticking to what they thought were their most solid batch of songs (and saving some pennies) they decided to hit the studio and recorded
their debut self titled EP at Pine Hollow Studio and Toy Car Studio in Eau Claire, WI and it was released on December 1st, 2017 under the
recording, mixing, and mastering guru himself, Justin Anderson.
After the release they gained attention both locally and nationally for their twinkly tones and melancholy lyrics, and even garnered radio play
throughout Wisconsin, a lone station in Seattle, and picked up a couple of interviews along the way.
They've been compared to many bands ranging from Tiny Moving Parts all the way to This Town Needs Guns. They enjoy these comparisons
but think they have a sound uniquely their own, and it's up to their fans or anyone else who enjoys a good emo revival band to cast their own
aspersions. « hide |
