Gao is a Japanese musician that first surfaced in 1990 as the winner of the first BS Young Battle competition (a battle of the
bands type of ordeal). She is perhaps best known for her 1992 million-selling single, "Sayonara". By the turn of the century,
Gao's career took a rather odd turn, as she turned into a female emcee, abandoning her previous rock past, under the alias of
Real G. However, by 2010, Gao returned as her rock self, and has been releasing material and touring regularly ever since.
