Extra Blue Kind (EBK) has never been a band that fits into any trend. Their boredom with albums that sound the same from start to finish drove them to offer something not common in today’s music industry climate: an album with some variety. P. David Hazel, EBK’s lead singer says, “It's like we gave you our best mix tape. It's eclectic, but it's still all pop.” Their songs are catchy, interesting songs that aren't vapid or overly trite. If you you're looking for the band that has the right guitar amp or vocal effect to put out the hip album of the moment where all the songs sound the same, then EBK is not what you're looking for.

Their song writing methods contribute to their eclectic songs according to Hazel. “Sometimes one of us will bring a song and everyone will contribute, but sometimes we'll get a case of beer and write an album’s worth of songs in one night. We approach every song in a different way. We're writing it or working out the details as we record it rather than sticking to a formula.” --from extrabluekind.com « hide
