Straight out of Decatur, GA, the incendiary duo of MCs Big Marc and Sho Nuff got their start with Milwaukee Black's Major Way Entertainment, later hooked up with Rowdy Records in 2004, and finally busted out with their debut album, Wood Work, in 2006. Da Backwudz represent Atlanta by proximity, but they have emerged from a scene in Decatur distinct from the crunk anthems and strip club tracks of the ATL mainstream, as well as from the mighty shadow of a certain other greater-Atlanta area duo. Still, their sound could be described as a synthesis of the two, though this would not give due credit to the uniquely impressive lyrical and musical abilities that set Da Backwudz apart as a new force in Southern hip hop.
