Curt Kirkwood started the Meat Puppets, with his brother Chris and friend Derrick Bostrom in the early 1980's. The band had minor commercial success in 1994 when they appeared with Nirvana on Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance. The band since broken up, leaving Curt to form Eyes Adrift with former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh. Since then Curt formed Volcano with Bud, but in 2005 focused his energy towards a solo career.
