Cryoshell formed in 2006 when an employee of Advance, Christine Lorentzen, was asked to provide lead vocals for a one-time recording with guitarist Kasper Søderlund, bassist
Mikkel Maltha and keyboardist Søren Bendz, with producer Eddie Simonsen. The song, "Creeping in My Soul", was used to promote the LEGO Bionicle toyline during 2007. The
song's popularity led Søderlund and Maltha to record two new songs with singer Niels Brinck: "Face Me", used to promote Bionicle during summer 2007, and "Gravity Hurts", used

During summer 2008, Simonsen and Brinck left the group; Christine Lorentzen returned as lead singer for the song "Closer to the Truth", used to promote Bionicle during the late
2008 set wave. The band, now named Cryoshell, signed with Voices & Music Entertainment and then released the song "Bye Bye Babylon", which was used to promote Bionicle's
2009 set line and was featured in the end credits of the Bionicle direct-to-DVD movie The Legend Reborn.
In 2010, Cryoshell hired drummer Jakob Gundel, released a re-recording of "Creeping in My Soul", and finished and released their debut eponymous album in their home country of
Denmark. In February 2011, the album was released for worldwide download.
Since then, Cryoshell has recorded two new songs to be released in spring 2012 with new drummer Martin Pagaard and a new lead singer, Tine Midtgaard, who will fill in for
Lorentzen as she raises her firstborn. « hide |
