One year after founding the band they released their first Demo CD called The Distance From Here. They played the New York circuit for
another year until they released the 7 song EP "Faces Of The Moment" in September of 2005.
The EP sold in the U.S, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, France, and Japan getting the attention of indie record label Gotham Records. The
label signed Chiba-Ken in 2006 after they played CBGB’s making them one of the last bands to be signed out of the legendary club before
they closed.
Guitarist Dan Casper came on as a second guitarist and the band wrote and recorded their first album "Are We Innocent?", which was
released by Gotham Records on October 3rd, 2006. The album was distributed in more than five countries selling 7,000 copies. Shortly
after the release Chiba-Ken made an appearance on Fearless Music where they performed their song Faster Tonight from their album.
Chiba-Ken toured the mid west and East Coast for an entire year after the release. In 2007 Dan Casper left the band for personal reasons.
Chiba-Ken played as a four piece for a year until they found guitarist Julian Ken who joined the band in 2008.
Julian Ken was born in Kazakhstan and lived in Israel before moving to the U.S. Julian's first concert with Chiba-Ken was at the Blossom
Music Center in Ohio on June 12, 2008 as opener for Iron Maiden at their Somewhere Back In Time World Tour. In November the band
began to work on their second full-length album called "Hard to Be Human". In the same month the band won a contest for Famecast and
was featured in SPIN Magazine of February 2009.
Chiba-Ken split with Gotham Records before recording and independently releasing Hard to be Human on April 9, 2009. The album was
produced by Chiba-Ken and Mike Watts who also produced As Tall as Lions, Hopesfall and The Scenic. Engineering was done by Rich
Liegey, who played in the groups Wheatus and The Smashup.

Mansion for their Super Bowl party in 2010.
Shortly after Chiba-Ken officially disbanded. Lead singer George William, drummer, Jason D’Amelio and guitarist Julian Ken formed the metal
