Formed in 2003 as a melodic hardcore band, Called To Arms quickly released a 3-song demo and an 8 song album while playing live extensively in the southeast. After adding Brady Sweat on lead guitar and altering their sound, the group finally gained momentum off of a new 3-song demo and signing to Tragic Hero Records. Their first official release on Tragic was The Last Lament EP which showcased more polished songwriting and a focus on slightly more progressive metal.

In 2010, Called To Arms finally released their first official LP via Tragic Hero entitled "Peril and the Patient." The album was a concept album based on C.S. Lewis' novel "The Screwtape Letters."
