Brad is an alternative rock band which was formed by guitarist Stone Gossard(Green River, Mother Love
Bone, Temple of the Dog, Pearl Jam), drummer Regan Hagar (Satchel, Malfunkshun), vocalist Shawn
Smith (Satchel), and bassist Jeremy Toback in 1992. They originally wanted to name themselves
Shame, but since it was already taken by the musician Brad Wilson, so they substituted their name to
be Brad and named their first album Shame.
Due to their wide variety of influences, coming from multiple bands, they did not sound particularly like

Due to their wide variety of influences, coming from multiple bands, they did not sound particularly like
the bands they came from. Instead, they took a lighter approach, making use of sometimes mellow and
sometimes funk-influenced guitar work. Their songs generally place emphasis on the vocals, although
many of the songs feature instrumental sections.
