Beaten Back to Pure formed in 1998 in Norfolk, Virginia. The band consists of: Ben Hoggs - vocals, Vince Burke - guitar, Richie Poor -
guitar, Slam Pickins - Bass, and Chuck Ember - Drums. Their style is a nice mix of southern rock, sludge, and stoner. The music is
just in your face, and Ben Hoggs has one of the best screams in the genre. Ben Hoggs also went to form Birds of Prey with members of
Alabama Thunderpussy (Erik Larson), Baroness (Summer Welch), and Burnt by the Sun (Dave Witte).
