Each member of Ape Machine contributes to the songwriting and adds their individual strengths and ideas to arrangement, riffs,and transitions. Singer, Caleb Heinze explains, “The music knows where it lives and our job is to help it find its way home. Wecan accomplish this by flirting with it and and getting it a little drunk… then it’s easy.” Guitarist, Ian Watts adds, “A lot of oursongs have been written in (bassist) Brian’s little kitchen over a 12-pack and a joint.”Ape Machine’s debut album ‘This HouseHas Been Condemned’ was recorded at The Magic Closet studio, located in the historic Meek family house in the Sellwoodneighborhood of Portland, OR. Owned and operated by Watts since 2005, the studio has become a destination for bands in theNorthwest. « hide |
