As one of the most famous tenors of the last twenty years, the blind, Tuscany-born Andrea Bocelli has shown himself as a versatile vocal prodigy whose style and grace transcend both genres and emotions. His performances include over 10 full length albums, many operas and collaborations from Celine Dion to Sarah Brightman.

Despite having a clear adeptness as a vocalist, he didn’t consider pursuing a career in music. Before unfortunately loosing his eyesight completely during a soccer game, the young Bocelli tackled the arduous task of learning the piano, saxophone and flute even while having somewhat reduced eyesight. Having this initial tuition can certainly attain to his later success story, but it wasn’t to be realised until he was 34.

His first two albums, fruitfully demonstrated how seemingly amazing his story was, considering both the lack of formal tuition and professional performance. His forth, designed to break into the mainstream pop market proved to be a major success commercially, and slung him further into well known collaborations with other mainstream artists. « hide
