One of the most recognizable names in grindcore, this band is responsible for having one of (if not the biggest) discographies in grindcore history, as well as naming their own personal style which they dub "mincecore". According to Jan Frederickx mmincecore is "the same as old school grindcore, the way it was in the 80's: raw, minimalistic and socially and politically involved". Agathocles hail from Belgium, and are known mainly for their numerous splits with obscure artists. The band has experienced several line-up changes since the start of their career, with the only consistent band member being Jan Frederickx.
