One of the more "spiritual" hip hop groups, of similar ilk to De La Soul circa 3 Feet High and Rising. Famed for the jazzy nature of their samples. ATCQ are commonly recognised for being a highly intelligent, artistic, and socially-conscious rap outfit. Rather than focusing on material issues and furthering their "street credibility", A Tribe Called Quest used their music as a platform for bringing light to social issues of their race, class standing, and issues within the music industry. To this day they are respected and regarded as pioneers of reflective rap music.
