Justin Veatch had music in his blood and graduated quickly from piano lessons on a keyboard at age four in his hometown of Yorktown, NY to the grand piano. But he also had skateboard riding in his genes and pursued extreme sports with huge enthusiasm and equally great talent. By age 13 he had broadened his musical abilities to playing on a variety of instruments including guitar, trumpet, glockenspiel, synth and a variety of rhythm instruments including drum kits. His ability to hear and produce music were uncanny. Justin worked in a studio enviroment on limited budgets and then in a home studio with software he was given as a christmas present. All the while, he pursued his passion for skateboarding with those of all abilities who shared his passion. His premature death at age 17 left family, friends and thousands others with a sense of extreme loss. Justin’s recordings such as “ESRT Page 14” and “Whispering Spirits” are being replayed all over the U.S., Canada and Great Britain and will surely be remembered for generations. The first full length CD with his music, Permagrin, is being released in the summer of 2009. More music from his basement sessions is expected to follow. « hide |
