Formed in 1999 by ex-By Divine Right member Brendan Canning and K.C. Accidental's Kevin Drew, Broken Social Scene are one of Canada's premiere indie bands. They released the critically acclaimed You Forgot it in People in 2002, gaining a lot of attention for their swarming of instruments in geniune pop songs. At that point the band was at 11 members. They released a follow-up in 2005, Broken Social Scene, a more ambitious and sprawling album, the band's personnel increased to 17 members.
