Often called the mothers of Japanese pop supergroups (predating Morning Musume by over a decade), Onyanko Club were a highly influential
Japanese pop group formed in 1985. Even though they only released a handful of singles, and even less albums, Onyanko Club are considered
to be the root and the creators of the popular Japanese supergroup trend in Japan. Onyanko Club inspired the Sharan Q vocalist, Tsunku, to try
the mega-female idea out, leading to humongous success, and making Morning Musume a successor to the trend. Onyanko Club's music still
lives on today, and although the music might be extremely outdated, their mega influence is what keeps the band afloat more than anything.
