Rare Bird

Rare Bird was a progressive rock band formed in England around 1969. The band distinguishes from others due to the fact that they started with no guitarist at all having only a bass (Steve Gould), a piano (Dave Kaffinetti), an organ (Graham Field) and drums (Mark Ashton). This quartet recorded the first two albums ''Rare Bird'' (1969) and ''As Your Mind Flies By'' (1970). After switching to Polydor label, Field and Ashton left and the band lost it's originality since a guitar was included. Two albums followed, ''Epic Forest'' (1972) and ''Somebody's Watching'' (1973). They disbanded sometime during mid 70s.
