The band released their first EP 5 Minutes With... in May 2005 before signing to Domino Records (the home of Franz Ferdinand and Orange Juice). The group's first two singles release 'I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor' and 'When The Sun Goes Down' both topped the UK singles chart whilst their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, This is What I Am Not became the fastest-selling debut in British History in early 2006.

The group are due to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2007 as well as headline two dates at the 50,000-capacity Lancaster County Cricket Ground, the first date of which sold out in less then 15 minutes.

The group's second album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' is due to be released on April 23rd. The album's first single 'Brianstorm' will be released a week before on April 16th. Sources close to the band say the new record is bolder, heavier and more experimental then the debut and shows more of an Art Rock side to the band when compered to the Oasis-esque 'Blokerock' of their debut.
