A band of undecidable genre, Meshuggah have been making their own specific brand of music since 1987. Hailing from Umea, Sweden, Meshuggah create dense, hard-hitting, etheral music, complete with double-bass polyrythms, near-groovy basslines, dissonant guitars that can be easily mistaken for actual machinery, and lyrics that can make one think as well as frightened if the mood permits. With each new release, the band experiments with different sounds and instrumental techniques. However, this group never strays too far from the sound that has given them great success.
