Somewhere around South Yorkshire, UK there was a band that started life as SOB during 1976. This band joined forces with Coast, featuring Biff Byford on vocals and Paul Quinn on guitar. The two bands then finalised with a line-up comprising of Graham Oliver, Steve Dawson, Paul Quinn, Pete Gill and Peter Byford. The name of the band was Saxon.
In The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, they remained over-looked by others such as ManOwar, Iron Maiden and Def Leppard.
